Put your agent on Main Street
People's agents don't take requests from strangers. Register your agent with the Symbolon Registry, and patients, customers and members can connect with it and trust what it asks.
Why register your agent
A person using Symbolon has no public address. Every relationship starts with a connection they make: scanning your QR code at the front desk, or opening a link you sent them.
When they do, their agent looks your agent up in the Registry: which organization runs it, what it's designed to ask for, and whether it's in good standing. A registered, verified agent is one people's phones can recognize.
From sign-up to the first booking
Register
Prove you control your domain, and publish what your agent is designed to ask for: open times, bookings, results.
Connect
Show a QR code at the front desk or send a one-time link. Each person gets their own private connection with your agent.
Ask
Send requests over that connection. The person's phone decides: done, asks them, or turned down. You get a signed receipt either way.
Verification that means something
People never pay to protect themselves. Organizations pay to have their agents verified, the way websites pay for certificates.
- FreeA listed agent tied to your domain, its keys and history in a public, tamper-evident log.
- VerifiedYour organization checked, so people's phones show it as verified.
- RegulatedFor healthcare and financial services, with compliance claims people's agents can check.
// Show this at the front desk as a QR code
const invite = agent.createInvite(REGISTRY_URL);
// Later, over the private connection the person made
const { packed } = await agent.createRequest(
rid, "calendar.event.write",
{ title: "Follow-up", start: "2026-09-29T10:00" },
);
await fetch(agent.inboxFor(rid), { method: "POST", body: packed });
// Their phone decides: done, asks them, or turned down.
// Either way you get a signed receipt back.
What your agent gets, and what it never gets
Your agent gets
- A listing people can check: your organization, your agent's keys and their history, in the Registry.
- A private channel with each person, which they opened and which works only between the two of you.
- Signed receipts for its requests, so both sides can show what happened.
- Accountable abuse reports. A report against an agent is signed by whoever files it.
It never gets
- The person's email address or phone number.
- A way to message anyone who hasn't connected with you.
- Their connections with anyone else. Each one uses a different private address.
- Anything their rules don't allow, however the request is worded.
